A LITTLE BIT ABOUT VIO

Vio is currently working mainly as a clinic clown in Berlin with the Red Noses Germany (www.rotenasen.de/clowns/clownteam/detail/floret/). This association requires constant training and retraining with renamed clowns and professionals in the field of clinic clowning. This has a direct influence on the quality as a clown and as a performer.

Vio was born to entertain. Even as a child she could always be found making people laugh! This has never changed. Over the years, she has finely tuned her own artistic voice, yet her performance style is always evolving to incorporate new impulses. Vio’s passion is connecting with an audience to create unforgettable experiences.

A LITTLE BIT MORE ABOUT VIO

Vio was born in Palma de Mallorca, Spain.
She began studying music, theatre and circus at a young age.
Vio’s pedagogical focus is on circus, music, clowning and physical games.
She has extensive experience teaching in social circus projects in Germany and Poland.

Vio has over 18 years of stage experience, including working with clown companies in different countries doing street theater and stage performances.

The “Clown/Fool/Trickster beings” chose Vio when she was at university.  She has trained with many teachers including: Peter Shub, Avner Eisenberg, Angela de Castro, Anke Geber, Ami Hattab, Jon Davison, Piero Partigianoni, Jango Edwards, Johanna Bassi, Lory Leshin, and others - perhaps less known, but just as as wonderful as the more  popular figures!). She has studied the techniques of Lecoq, Gaulier, Marcel Marceau and Decroux, among many others.

Vio’s specialization in games has been supported by years of apprenticeship with other amazing circus pedagogues, as well as her own imagination.

Vio fell in love with the clown/fool/trickster figures and sees them as a guiding philosophy - the most amazing way to understand life and humanity. She believes that we can learn as much through the observation of real life situations and understanding how to improvise the next steps as we can from the great names in clowning - to her, this power of learning by observation is as valuable as going on stage and experiencing the flop!

Some references: Looney Tunes, Tricicle, Chaplin, Keaton and Ancient Mythology.

She has worked with audiences since childhood (helping in the family business, playing music and some theatre performances). She performed at parties and private events as a young adult, then moved on to stages and street performances with several clown companies throughout Mallorca, Italy and Germany.

Vio is the co-founder of Berlin’s Melon Rouge Varieté: a self-organised, feminist and emancipatory project for showcasing alternative artistic talent and telling a diversity of stories. In this project, Vio enjoyed sharpening her production and moderation skills.

Her mottoes: “We are here to learn.” and “Making a fool of yourself is a serious task!”
